Works for me...

in really I think this is because you did not select the cells correcly.
if your mouse do not move enought, the text of the cells is selected but not the cells itselves

I can not merge two cells, the button is disabled :

• I create a table with headers and three rows
• I select two cells in last row
• the button to merge cell is disabled with message "Il n'est pas possible de fusionner des cellules d'entêtes avec des cellules normales"
