We have the same behavior in 3.9, so my last comment could be ignored. It is a feature not a bug.

When the user reorders the columns, his preferences are not taken into account: each time the search is restarted, the order of the columns is that of the "columns" field.

Is it what we want? Is it possible to have the right initial order while maintaining the preferences of the user?
Note that the hidden columns are well taken into account
