I do not have any log.
With demo repository, I open the page /fr/espace-membre/changer-mon-mot-de-passe.html and I click on the button to initialize the password.
[CMS-8317] I cannot reinitialize my password. An error occurs

added a comment - The 'smtp.mail.host' value must be correct, and so the email of the authenticated user.
I had the same error, but notice that demo config is "wrong". With demo data, the values are smtp.yourdomain.com and user1@ametys.org.
But with correctly filled, I had no error.
Can you confirm you had this error without changing those "fake" values ?

You have to configure your SMTP server and test with a valid email (userX@ametys.org for demo data are not valid emails)
