Right now, to display a video, only 3 possibilities exists :

• Upload the video in Ametys (few handled formats, no heavy video, no transcoding, etc...)
• Use Youtube (and allow them to do whatever they want with the video)
• Use DailyMotion (same problem)

PeerTube is a decentralized platform to host videos.

Each instance can communicate with others and with other protocols (ActivityPub is used, same as Mastodon or many other social networks).

Peertube is quite simple to host if the user want to have all power on his videos, but there are already hundreds of instances (there are even instances for each academy in France, see http://apps.education.fr/applications/peertube/ )
