Steps to reproduce bug:

1. Set up a site with intranet skin
2. Create a user with uppercase letters in his email address
3. Create a page (with news content for example)
4. Send email with the button top right
   

Bug

Despite getting confirmation of email being sent, it doesn't seem to actually be sent (nothing shows up on PapercutSMTP emulator).

Additionally, can't see any logs linked to the issue
