Results returned by the service can change without any explicit action by contributor about that.
Indeed, there is no widget or fields the service can use to sort results.
For news, it is compulsary that content digest uses one of the date given by this content type to sort results.
we may add a custom parameter to content digest listing all content types' metadata for sorting.
Obviously it would only work when exactly one Content type is choosen.
